On Sunday 9th May 2016 it was the Walsall FC end of season awards.

It was also the last game of the season that was being played earlier that day, Walsall needed to win by a considerable amount of goals and hope that Burton Albion would be beaten to allow Walsall promotion into the Championship… Well Walsall got half the job done by beating Port Vale 5-0… unfortunately with Burton Albion taking a point left Walsall stuck in the play off places but this didn’t but a downer on the Awards later that night.

The Club, Players and Staff have been brilliant all season and they should all be very proud of achieving a place in the Play Offs – of course they have been played now and unfortunately Walsall didn’t get the dream promotion they where hoping for but we know with the same commitment and effort they will be back to challenge once again.

As for the Awards that where given out on Sunday 9th May:

Players’ Player of the Season was awarded to Adam Chambers.

Young Player of the Season was awarded to Rico Henry.

Goal of the Season was awarded to Romaine Sawyers for his goal against Blackpool (A)

Romaine Sawyers was awarded the Community Player of the Season.

Owen Richards was awarded the Pride of Walsall Award.
