Once More Into The Bleach
Once More Into The Bleach are a professional act and are the official Deborah Harry and Blondie tribute band. They have performed their energy packed show all over the country and abroad. Sam C. who sports the trademark blonde hair and sexy pout performs the part of Deborah Harry.
Her look and style has even fooled the most dedicated Blondie fan in thinking they are seeing the real Deborah Harry on stage. The band wear the classic Parallel Lines look of white shirt and black trousers with ratty ties and baseball boots, whilst Sam C. copies the costumes of Deborah Harry (some donated by the lady herself!).
This consists of 6 changes (depending on venue). The show is a full production affair with backdrop; PA and full lighting show and appeals to a wide range of music lovers of all ages that must not be missed.
Since the formation of ‘Into The Bleach, they have built up an impressive C.V:
- They have played to 2,000 bikers at the prestigious Bulldog Bash in support to Bruce Dickinson.
- Have played to thousands of people at a concert in Rome where they had to fill in when the Real Blondie could not make it.
- As one of the most successful tribute bands in the Midlands they were featured on Central TV News.
- They have appeared on TV with Virgin Radio DJ Robin Banks in the Sham Rock Quiz.
- They have played in Southern Spain and Ireland.
- They have played numerous festivals such as ‘The Water and Light’ at Morecambe and supported Whitesnake at the Tarlair music festival in Scotland. They have also played Knebworth Park.
- Lead singer Sam was invited on Blondie’s Euro 1998 and 1999 tour and more recently on their 2002 tour. Her band has full approval from Blondie and are the only ones to do so.
- Sam organized the UK's first ever official Blondie / Deborah Harry convention. It was a huge success and completely sold out.
- Once More Into The Bleach are featured in the new Deborah Harry biog 'Platinum Blonde' written by Cathay Chay and the future publication of ‘Blondie Then and Now’
- Lead singer Sam has appeared in a film about Blondie, which aired on Channel 4's short films at the end of last year.
- Once More into The Bleach also featured on Radio 2’s documentary on Blondie and in BBC's Omnibus series, which was shown in October 1999
- Sam featured recently on the Big Breakfast in relation to the new documentary ‘The Lookalikes Agency’.
- They have toured on the Brannigans circuit inconjuction with Baileys to promote their product.
- Sam featured on Channel 4’s Ten of the Best. Blondie were unable to be interview so they sent ‘Bleach’ instead!
- Performed for Uriah Heep and Nazareth at their after show party at the Notre Dame Venue and recently supported Wheatus
- They have performed at The Matthew Street Festival in Liverpool for 3 years running.
- They feature on the album Cult Themes of the 80’s and have been praised for their version of ‘Call Me’ and have received rave reviews David Bowie’s ‘Absolute Beginners’. They have also had air play on Virgin Radio.
Once More Into The Bleach play up to 90 minutes of Blondie classic sounds, including all their many hits plus songs that keen Blondie fans will relish. No dat tapes are used, the band keeps true to Blondie’s policy of keeping music live.
Their set is constantly changing and ranging from The Parallel Lines and Eat To The Beat album show, to the Complete Hits Show.
