Bruno provides three different characters to keep your children entertained. Below is a brief description of each.

Pirate Pete
The most popular of Bruno’s characters who entertains the children with a mix of balloon animals, songs, games and piratical storytelling all on the themes of treasure, desert islands, wooden legs etc. Pirate Pete gets everyone joining in with laughter, raucous singing and pirate noises – Oooh Arr, Yo ho ho, Shiver me Timbers…..

Carl the Cowboy

Carl provides full-blooded Wild Western entertainment in a similar format to that provided by Pirate Pete.

Stromboli the Storyteller
Stromboli also provides songs, interactive stories, balloon animals and games but on almost any theme requested by the customer. Themes so far include: mermaids, aliens, Barbie, Action Man, Trains, Builders & JCB’s, Dinosaurs, Tweenies, Insects and many more.

All the above acts use a combination of balloon modelling, songs, storytelling and games to achieve the aim of highly amused and entertained children of all ages from 2 to 9 years. A special set of wild and wacky games is available for older children and teenagers.

Bruno is also to provide a multitude of children’s songs by becoming a one-man band with a big bass drum.
Bruno is also ideal for any festivals, fetes, fun days and carnivals.

Education through Storytelling
Bruno is also a professional storyteller who is ideal for infant, junior, primary, middle and special schools. This also includes Nursery and Reception classes.

Re-telling stories from across the world, as well as sharing his own unique tales, Bruno enchants children, developing their listening skills, language skills and vocabulary.
He encourages the children to join in with a wide range of actions and sound effects. These help them to “inhabit” the story and encourage them to listen attentively as they anticipate the next gesture or sound.

Subsequent storytelling as a group convinces the children that they can create stories. This is followed by a workshop appropriate to the children’s age and ability in which they invent ideas (in pairs) and develop them into fleshed out literary works. The workshops enthuse the children and fill them with belief in their abilities as storytellers. It is intended that at the end of each workshop there be a time of sharing of the ideas / stories created during the session.

In all this work the requirements of the National Literacy Strategy and National Curriculum are strongly born in mind.
Specific thematic requirements can normally be catered for, as can country of origin of stories if sufficient notice is given.
Bruno’s aim is to leave the children excited about stories and storytelling and with a desire to read. Because Bruno is male, boys relate to him well; often “problem” boys write pages after he has left!

For every booking made Bruno offers “awe and wonder” in the form of a free assembly, which can be Christian, multi-faith or moral and ethical. Details are available on request.
